Mass - December 2006 Job of the Month
Normally we build countertops that are around 2" thick, as it gives a nice "look at me" touch. But at 3" thick, this one was an exception to the case. You have to admit, that extra inch gives these countertops a more massive look, but since we do a cutback toward the center of the countertop to make it thinner, it wasn't necessary to reinforce the cabinets. The undermount sink really stands out with that thick edge, wouldn't you agree?
