Crumbling Away - March 2008 Job of the MonthHere we encountered a slate tile patio that had been replaced not just once, but twice. As it was exposed to the elements and there had been some movement of the slab, the tiles tended to "pop off" on their own. The solution was to pop off the rest, clean the thinset underneath, apply a skim coat overlay, seal, and cut it into a tile pattern. The wide, 24" pattern gives it an elegant, uncluttered look.
