Color It In - September 2009 Job of the Month

Here we have two separate countertops in the same home. For both, we pulled out the existing countertops and replaced them with concrete, including the backsplash. We mixed a pigment with the cement prior to pouring it, creating a deep color that goes completely through the countertop. As these were cast in place countertops, we hand-trowelled the finish, creating different textures and bands of color throughout the tops.
